This home is for sophisticated five star travelers who want their own private San Ysidro Ranch Hotel to themselves. A gated English tudor estate on 1.3 acres, our guests and friends refer to it as the 'Sanctuary' because the house simply transforms you into a state of relaxation and bliss. The home and gardens are expansive yet intimate, and are surrounded by rugged mountain views, large Oak trees, and exceptional landscaping. If you consider yourself a green thumb and enjoy gardens, this is your home.

The electronic wooden gates and enclosed fence line around the property make this home a Dog lover's paradise. I know. I witness my sixteen year old Golden Retriever turn into an 8 year old while my Boxer gallops for glee across the yard. Inside, cool Mexican pavers allow for perfect napping conditions as well. This is important because any holiday traveler knows how much we worry about the well being of our pet while we dine at restaurants, play golf or tennis, attend a Polo match, mountain bike or surf or receive a much deserved spa treatment.

But please don't confuse dog lover's paradise with dirty. This is the cleanest house you will ever enter. It is spotless to the point where you could eat off the floors. It is just that we PREFER COUPLES WHO ENJOY TRAVELING WITH THEIR PETS OVER FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN OR LARGE GROUPS OF PEOPLE.

The English tudor house is charming and chic. The master bedroom has a a California King, fire place, walk in closet and vaulted ceilings. You feel like you're sleeping in a tree line and don't be startled if you hear an occasional woodpecker outside in the morning. The reading room downstairs is perfect for morning coffee and the morning paper while the living room with fire place is the ideal couch potato spot. (The Los Angeles Times Sunday Edition is included). Two guest rooms down stairs have their own private bathrooms with french doors that open out to a patio overlooking the expansive yard.

The kitchen is equipped with 5 Star Appliances. It also comes with a Nespresso machine, coffee machine, blender, fine dish ware and china, wine glasses and tumbler glasses for an afternoon gin and tonic or evening scotch. A private detached laundry room with side by side washer/dryer machines is across the kitchen entrance.

Above the garage, the guest room has been

converted to a state of the art gym with ellipitcal machine and bike. Free weights, stretch cords and a mat to stretch out are also included. French doors open to a beautiful view of the gardens while you do your morning cardio. A stereo and wireless internet also allows you to turn on music of your choice.

Beneath the gym is an indoor ping pong table and two mountain bikes if you choose to hit the trails which are right down the street from us off the famed Romero Canyon.

The Sundance Jacuzzi is brand new, state of the art, powerful and spotless. Set it to 102' or 103, slip off your robe at night, and stare at the stars through the canopy of trees as the crickets and owls serenade you under the moonlit sky.

An outside barbecue and large deck space with rod iron chairs and plush cushions surrounds an antique tiled dining table. Chaise lounges also allow for napping or reading the great novel that has escaped you for quite some time. Manicured gravel trails lead to an outdoor fire pit surrounded by four chairs. The gravel trails will remind you of a provincial French Chatteau.

The neighborhood exudes charm and is excellent for long walks, jogs or bike rides. Alisos is adorned by a canopy of trees and exudes that classic rustic flavor where you can hear the crunch of leaves and smell the cool, crisp air mixed in with the rich aromatic branches. I enjoy that the streets are flat which allow easy walking or bike riding. Yet, walk two blocks over and you are on the base of LILAC street and you can walk the steep hills for more excercise and look at more of the prestigious estates of Montecito.

This is your own private oasis it is for the sophisticated traveler who understands 5 star living and wants the solitude of a charming home for themselves and their pets over hotel living. It is for responsible tenants who truly appreciate a well kept house.

We look for renters who want to stay one or two weeks.

Reviews

Happily, this was our second stay at this beautiful retreat! We visit the area often and this home is by far our favorite place to stay! No other property comes close to providing the privacy, relaxation & natural beauty of this home and the outdoor space that is so unique to Montecito! As soon as you drive through the gate, you will be transformed! The property is completely fenced with gorgeous landscaping to maximize the beauty of the huge oaks trees throughout the property along with native Californian plants & multiple lawn areas. The back patio stretches the length of the back of the home providing a stunning vantage point to enjoy the grounds making it a perfect spot to enjoy breakfast in your PJ's! Our only problem was we found ourselves still in those PJ's as lunch was nearing!!:) The owners generously allowed us to bring our beloved dog, and he spent endless hours exploring outside off leash, which is priceless! The inside of this character filled home is an experience all on it's own. It is meticulously maintained by the owners who have added all the modern conveniences of a Chef's kitchen but retained so much of the original details and character of this 1940's home! It truly has that San Ysidro Ranch feel, with the Santa Barbara Stone walls in the living and dining room, saltillo tile floors, wooden ceilings with ample skylights, original stain glass windows, with a lovely fireplace in the living room and master bedroom. It's located in a lovely walkable neighborhood and a 5 minute drive into downtown Montecito! It's an extraordinary place that we hope to return to again and again!!!

MAGIC

I recently had the honor of staying in this beautiful historic home. The architecture is stunning and transports you away from the cookie cutter homes that you find all over Southern California. The interior is full of interesting little nooks with gorgeous stain glass windows where you can sit, just relax, or read. There are skylights that fit the era of the house and bring in lots of natural light. The wood ceilings have all kinds of wonderful angles& that's not to mention the stunning stonework on the walls. I could go on and on! The outdoor space is not to be described, with huge old oaks, combined with native California plants nestled around sections of grass with winding walkways throughout the entire fenced property. It is Disneyland for dogs and their guardians. Located in a quiet area conducive to long walks and bike riding. Rural yet minutes from Coast Village, not that you will want to leave to go anywhere! The home is meticulously clean and the owner is a dream to work with! I'm already planning my return trip! Tuckie's Mom
