Great Santa Barbara Getaway

We spent four nights at Harborwalk (Lilac) and it was just perfect for three of us. It was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed to make small meals/snacks. We visited Santa Barbara during a very hot weekend, and our "cottage" stayed very comfortable -- with just opening patio doors and windows. The location was excellent -- just a couple of blocks from the beach (perfect for our morning walks) and very close to State Street for great shopping and food! Stephanie was very helpful -- and went above and beyond to make sure that we had everything we needed. We would love to stay here again on future trips to this beautiful city. Niki P.

A lovely winter getaway

This is our fourth year at Harborwalk (Camellia) and it has been a wonderful experience. The cottage is charming, the yard is lovely, and the location can't be beat. We are minutes from the beach, close to State Street with fine restaurants, shops, movies, etc. Stephanie is very helpful, when needed (not often) and we love being here. The cottage is well-furnished and has everything that we need. We hope to come back again! Our dog is happy, too! Carolyn C.

Great rental

The Rose Cottage is perfect for a couple or a small family. We spent 3 days there with my husband and two kids (3 and 6) and it was perfect: quiet, very clean, comfortable and lovely. The harbor and the beach are less than 10 min walking with the kids. We even wet to the commercial street by foot. The only thing is that is you are more than 2, the people who are sleeping in the living room have the day light with the "window" on the ceilings. You have everything you need to cook your own meals and a large balcony to eat outside. The shower is small but large enough even for the 2 kids at the same time. I was totally satisfied and happy with this choice of rental. Stephanie L.

Excellent location, value, and customer service

My partner and I stayed here for five nights in early September. It was our first experience and it was entirely positive. The location in the heart of the West Beach area was great. It's just a couple of blocks from Cabrillo Blvd so it's easily walkable. In fact, you can often just leave your car alone if you're planning to just hang out in the area. A good size neighborhood market (Santa Cruz Market) is just two blocks away as well as the Brewhouse Santa Barbara. And the Funk Zone with its innumerable urban wineries and the excellent Figueroa Mountain Brewery are just a short walk away on the other side of State Street, while the many restaurants on lower State Street on the other side of 101 aren't much further. It's way simpler to walk than to drive to these spots. And if you take the train to Santa Barbara it's a short walk from the Amtrak station to the HarborWalk Cottage. No point in a taxi or Uber unless you have lots of luggage. Though the accommodation does not include a parking space, we had no trouble finding one within a block or two at that was over Labor Day weekend. Just be careful to observe the zones and times that are resident only, and the others (including the same block as the HarborWalk) that have street sweeping on Wednesday or Thursday. Our unit (the Rose Cottage) was the perfect size for two adults. Everything worked very well. Santa Barbara is normally quite cool at night but as is typical for September it was on the warm side even at night so note that the A/C is above the fridge and will require a chair to reach it to turn it on and off. We really enjoyed eating our meals on the deck in the back. Though there is nighttime activity up the street at the Brewhouse and another bar, the neighborhood is very quiet at night. Before confirming my reservation I checked hotel availability and prices extensively (I'm a travel agent so this is right up my alley) and there wasn't anything comparable in price or value. Stephanie, the owner, was outstanding in her customer service. She replied so quickly to every one of my emails and returned the security deposit the day after we left. It doesn't get better than that. I would highly recommend.

Santa Barbara

Beautiful one bedroom, great location only 2 blocks from beach. Within walking distance to several coffee shops and restaurants. We have stayed in Santa Barbara several time and this is a great location. The home is clean and beautiful. Has a nice deck and kitchen. I had to call Stephanie about a key I lost and she returned my call right away and solved the problem. We will be booking this again on our next visit. Kye T.

Beautiful house, exceptional location only 2 blocks from the beach, 3 from downtown (restaurants, shops, nightlife), 2 from the train station. Even if you are not interested in sitting on the beach to sunbathe, the easy access to good coffee, restaurants, walking and biking paths, and of course people watching, makes the location of the house perfect. The home itself is absolutely beautiful with all of the updates and the layout is very practical. Beautiful furnishings, nice large deck and well equip kitchen. I can't imagine a nicer place to stay in SB. (Stephanie is the best to work with too.)

Sunny Santa Barbara

We stayed in the Hydranga suite in May 2010 for 5 days as part of a 3 week trip to California. We chose Harbour walk as we wanted a break from hotel rooms and having to eat out every night. It was the perfect place, it is spacious for 2 people, spotlessly clean, and very nicely decorated. The facilities include a full kitchen, and washing machine and dryer which were really useful. It has a very private upstairs deck with a table and chairs, and gas BBQ. The house is in a very good neighbourhood with some nice residential properties, and some upper end hotels. The harbour and Stearns warf are about 5 minutes walk away, whilst State Street with some unexpectedly gorgeous shopping, is 10 - 15 minute walk, or 5 drive, with lots of parking. There was only one slight niggle, parking outside the property is not always possible, and we did have to search in nearby streets to park on several occassions, it did not however spoil the experience. We would definitely reccomend this property (and already have to a young English couple we met) and would return if we ever found ourselves in this part of the world again. One dining tip : The Brew House is a locals bar / restaurant 2 minutes walk from the house served the best steak we had on our trip, it is has live music and a really great atmosphere, a welcome change from the tourist traps. Santa Barbara Retreat

I Love this place! My wife and I have stayed here every December for the last 3 years and decided to finally write a review. The great thing about this place is that it is centrally located to everything. The beach is only a couple blocks away and so is State Street where all the shops are. The cottage is decorated very cute in a shabby chic style my wife tells me and is well supplied. The bed and sofa are very comfortable. The Hydrangea cottage is separate from the other cottages and is very quite. Stephanie is easy to get in touch with if we need her and has always been very helpful. We'll see you again in December.
